Naala Royale was born in Jamaica but has lived in New York for over 26 years. After graduating from Stony Brook University, Naala delved into a 20 year long marketing career working for a major food service company operating in 42 countries. As Vice President of Marketing, she was responsible for all strategy development, new brand innovation and sales growth. However one of her most notable accomplishments was the development of a sustainability brand for ARAMARK called Green Thread, which promoted organic food and environmentally friendly operational practices.
While still working for ARAMARK, Naala pursued her dream to develop a restaurant that was reflective of her Jamaican roots. In 2004 she opened an intimate, upscale Caribbean restaurant called Dunns River Lounge. Though intended to simply be a short-term hobby, the restaurant quickly became a successful full-time business now in operation for almost ten years.
When you combine Naala’s love of Jamaica, her experience in the food service industry and her passion for organic and sustainable dining, it is no surprise that she now dedicates a significant amount of her time to Farm Up Jamaica Ltd. Naala now serves on the Board where she leverages her marketing expertise to help build awareness and fundraise for this benevolent project to help Jamaica.
