A group of 36 students and their professor visited Farm Up Jamaica’s Onion Farm in New Forest, Manchester. They came to learn more about organic farming and the impact Jamaica’s agricultural industry has on the country’s economy. The students were able to learn from our farmer, Aldophus Blake – affectionately called “Under the Tree.” They discussed the differences between organic and conventional farming. After hearing from many of the farm workers on this project, they were truly captivated by how much of a positive impact this pilot project is already having on the New Forest farming community.

We will continue to reach out to students and other organizations to visit and or volunteer on our farms.
